The first Monday of Twenty Ten

Ah, it's so hard to get up in the morning especially when you know that the temperature outside is Absolute Zero! Hehe, sure am kidding, the thermometer outside showed -12°C. Seriously, it's quite cold I preferred to see ourselves curled up in our duvets till at least 9:00 o'clock. But no choice, classes resumed today.

With chilly mornings like this one, there's nothing as warming as a good fire in the fireplace, it was just indispensable. So even before preparing our breakfast, I lighted it to warm up the house and our bones as well. Nothing's cozier than having hot chocolate or coffee with still warm croissants in front of a crackling fire although we knew that, afterwards, we were about to confront that cold weather that gives you frozen nose hairs, lol. Some proofs, despite the blazing sun, we had an awful time defrosting the car windscreen and opening the gate's frozen locks.

When the kids left for school, I started removing the christmas decors. I don't know, but I felt bizarre. I mean, I felt a tinge of sadness when I started to remove the christmas balls from the christmas tree. As though that tree became a part of our family and that I'd be breaking my daughter's heart if I throw it away. I was hesitant at first I even tried putting them back on but then decided that I really had to do it today. Feeling guilty upon looking at the tree "naked", I caressed its branches and whispered 'goodbye'. Well, was it just a feeling or it's me who's odd?

I spent the rest of the afternoon vacuuming and changing the bed sheets I didn't realize it was already time to fetch our daughter from school. And little did I know that the day that started soooo cool would end up with me being so upset over some fat, ugly, hooked-nose witch's stupid remarks. Shite. Arghh! I need to cool it...
